Dr. Cantonsmith has several areas of specialty including Emergency Medicine, Sports and Exercise Medicine, Trauma, and Life Support.

Education:

Dr. Cantonsmith received her Bachelor of Medical Science in 1998, and then her Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery in 2000 from the University of Nottingham. In 2009, she went on to complete a Masters Degree in Sports & Exercise Medicine also from the University of Nottingham. Dr. Cantonsmith completed her residency in 2016, in Emergency Medicine at Royal Stoke University Hospital (a UK Military & Major Trauma Centre), which sees 400+ patients per day, and is an instructor on the Advanced Trauma & Pediatric Life Support Courses for doctors. She became a Fellow by examination, of the UK Royal College of Emergency Medicine in 2016.

Background:

Dr. Cantonsmith has over 16 years of clinical experience. Before joining Shanghai United Family Hospital, Dr. Cantonsmith worked in Stoke, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leicester & Nottingham in the UK.  She served for 6 years as the Team Doctor for the Great Britain Paralympic Archery team participating in the Beijing 2008 & London 2012 Paralympic Games, and as Spectator Care Doctor at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
