Bojun HU

Ms. Hu received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania (USA). She earned a master’s degree as well as a doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Fordham University in New York City (USA). During her studies, she focused on post-traumatic growth, significant personality change and chronic mental illnesses. Her research emphasizes the importance of discovering personal narratives and finding what is meaningful for the person. Ms. Hu completed her pre-doctoral Psychology internship at MMHC/Beth Isr1ael Deaconess Hospital/Harvard Medical School (USA), where she specialized in the integration of psychodynamic therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), which involves integrating therapies informed by both Western traditions and the Eastern mind-body practices. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Brandeis University (USA).

Ms. Hu has over 10 years of clinical experience practicing psychology. Before moving to China in 2016, she worked as a therapist in hospitals and outpatient mental health clinics in both the Boston and NYC areas, including through appointments as clinical supervisor and consultant. She has taught classes in the area of Humanistic Psychology. In 2016, Ms. Hu also completed a 200-hour yoga teaching certification and now integrates yoga, movement and meditative practices more extensively into her treatment approaches in both individual and group settings. She has developed expertise in treating depression/grief, anxiety/stress, relational difficulties, trauma, and adjustment issues in adults 15 years of age and above.

Ms. Hu is a China licensed psychotherapist and licensed psychologist in the State of Massachusetts. She is a member of and frequent presenter at the American Group Psychotherapy Association. As a Chinese-born American who has navigated the landscapes of cross-cultural adjustment, she is intimately acquainted with the challenges and the potentials of relocation, immigration and globalization.
