Biography

Dr Nenad Andjelkov is specialized in the fields of trauma, knee and hip arthroplasty, as well as arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgeries and sports injury management. In addition, he continues to explore his personal interest in the field of cartilage injury treatment, researching further in the field of cartilage repair and actively participating in research that deals with the production of biological polymer scaffolds used in for the treatment of cartilage injury repair.

Education:

Dr Nenad Andjelkov graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Belgrade in 1999. In 2001, he was enrolled for his Masters degree at the University of Tromsö, Norway. In 2005, he passed the Medical Licensing Exam at the Karolinska Institute of Medicine in Stockholm, Sweden, and in 2007, he obtained his Doctoral degree from the University of Tromsö. He completed his internship, followed by speciality training in Orthopedics for 5 years, and practiced FOR 5 more years as a specialist in the field of Orthopedics, where he obtained his Speciality Diploma in Orthopedics in 2012. In 2017, he became Senior Consultant in Orthopedics. In 2018, he initiated his post-graduate STUDIES at the University of Örebro,  Sweden, where he is still active as a researcher. During this period, Dr. Andjelkov was trained and practiced in the fields of trauma, knee and hip arthroplasty, as well as arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgeries and sports injury management, in which he has gained extensive clinical experience. In addition, he continues to explore his personal interest in the field of cartilage injury treatment, researching further in the field of cartilage repair and actively participating in research that deals with the production of biological polymer scaffolds used in for the treatment of cartilage injury repair. Dr. Andjelkov is a Fellow Member of the International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS).

Background:

Dr. Nenad Andjelkov has over 25 years of clinical experience. Before joining United Family Hospital, he has been working for many years as a Senior Consultant in Orthopedics at a private clinic in Stockholm, Sweden, DBI Vård & Hälsa. He was working mostly with sports injuries and their treatment including, but not limited to, knee and shoulder arthroscopic surgeries. Prior to that, he had been working for a long period of time at a large public hospital, Region Västmanland, Västerås, Sweden, where he gained broad and extensive experience in the treatment of various orthopedic disorders. During this time, he also worked as the Head of the Department for Clinical Education (KUA), the department within orthopedic clinic in Västerås specialized in mentoring students from the University of Uppsala, Uppsala, Sweden. He also worked as an Assistant Professor in Orthopedics at the University of Tromso, Norway. Dr. Andjelkov is also the author of a dozen of scientific papers in the field of cartilage repair in recognized international journals and serves as a reviewer.
