Dr. Lu has several areas of specialty including public health, infectious diseases, influenza, and the diagnosis and treatments of HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Lu received his medical degree and PhD from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University in 1999, and later completed his postdoctoral studies at Vanderbilt University in 2002.
Dr. Lu has over 29 years of clinical experience. Before joining Shanghai United Family Hospital, Dr. Lu served in the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center (SPHCC) as its Chief Physician and Co-Director. He is a leading expert in fever of unknown reason, rational application of anti-infective drugs, diagnosis and treatment of HIV/AIDS, central nervous system infections, pulmonary infections, hepatitis, and parasite diseases. Dr. Lu has served as the Co-Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Clinical Management, Training and Research on Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lu is a Professor of Shanghai Fudan University and is published in many prominent medical journals, including New England Journal of Medicine.
