Prof. Shu has several areas of specialty treatments， including severe periodontal disease, implant restoration, hard tissue /soft tissue augmentation， and aesthetic surgery for soft tissue.

Education:

Prof. Shu received her Bachelor Degree from Sichuan Medical College in 1982. She was awarded Master Degree in 1989 from School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, under Professor Zongren HUANG, who specialized in the clinical application of periodontal disease. After that, she was awarded Doctoral Degree from School of Medicine， Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1996 , under Professor Zheng LU who is majoring in basic and applied research of clinical treatment of periodontal disease.  In addition, she also pursued advanced learning at the University of Oregon Health and Science and the University of Maryland between 2002 and 2003.

Background:

Prof. Shu has more than 40 years of clinical practice experience. Prior to joining United Family Healthcare Shanghai, Prof. Shu worked at Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, specializing in sequence treatment of moderate to severe periodontitis, various periodontal surgeries, various complicated dental implant surgeries, peri-implant hard tissue /soft tissue augmentation, aesthetic surgery for soft tissue. Prof. Shu is the chair of the 5th Periodontology Professional Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association and the vice chairman of the Oral Laser Medicine Professional Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association. Chair of the first, second and third sessions of the Periodontology Professional Committee of Shanghai Stomatological Association, and academician of the International College of Dentists. She is also the former chairman and standing member of the Periodontology Professional Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association, chairman of the Periodontology Professional Committee of the Shanghai Stomatological Association, academician of the International College of Dentists. She won the 1998 Shanghai Excellent Discipline Leader Program, the title of Shanghai 38 Red Flag Bearer in 2005, the winner of the second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2006, and a member of the 12th Shanghai CPPCC. She is also the member of the International Society of Implantology (ITI Fellow) expert group,  and the Deputy editor of the undergraduate textbook [Periodontology] of the “13th Five-Year Plan” of the Ministry of Health.
