Dr. Zhuang Shaowei is highly experienced in diagnosis and treatment of complex and difficult cardiovascular diseases, such as coronary heart disease, arrhythmia, and heart failure, especially in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of complex coronary heart disease.

Education:

Dr. Zhuang earned his bachelor degree from Xuzhou Medical College(now Xuzhou Medical University) in 1986, and was later awarded a medical master’s degree in 1994 from Beijing Medical University (now Peking University Health Science Center). In 2011, he obtained his doctorate degree of medicine from Tongji University.

Dr. Zhuang Shaowei has over 38 years of clinical practice experience and is one of the earliest experts in acute myocardial infarction thrombolysis, green channel, coronary intervention, radiofrequency ablation, and pacemaker implantation in China. He has accumulated rich experience in personalized diagnosis and treatment of various critical and difficult cardiac diseases, and has a certain influence and good reputation in the cardiovascular field in China. Before joining the UFH Shanghai, he completed professional training in cardiovascular intervention and radiofrequency ablation at the First Hospital of Peking University and the Beijing Red Cross Chaoyang Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University from 1991 to 1997. Afterwards, he served as the attending physician at Beijing Red Cross Chaoyang Hospital. From 1997 to 1999, he was invited as a guest doctor to visit the University Hospital of Munich in Germany and St. Georg Hospital and later worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the United States for 4 years. He studied under renowned domestic and international cardiology experts and received strict and standardized professional training in clinical and cardiac interventional diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Zhuang was introduced to China by talent in 2003 and has been working in clinical practice at Shanghai East Hospital for 14 years, serving as the Deputy Director of Cardiology,meanwhile, he also served as a consulting doctor in international center in the Hospital. Later he. From 2017 to 2023, he served as the Director of Cardiology at Shanghai Seventh People’s Hospital.

Dr. Zhuang is currently the instructor of the Cardiovascular Disease Interventional Training Base of the National Health Commission, the honorary vice chairman of the Interventional Cardiology Branch of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the vice chairman of the Interventional Cardiology Branch of the Shanghai Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the vice chairman of the Yangtze River Delta Syncope Diagnosis and Treatment Committee, the member of the Shanghai Medical Association, the member of the Echocardiography and Imaging Group of the Cardiovascular Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the member of the Shanghai Chest Pain Center Alliance, the member of the Shanghai Atrial Fibrillation Center Alliance, the member of the Shanghai Heart Failure Center Alliance, He is the vice chairman of the Cardiovascular Committee of Pudong New Area, and was a member of the American College of Cardiology.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Zhuang has published more than 100 papers in internationally renowned cardiovascular journals such as Circulation, including more than 30 SCI papers, and participated in the compilation of 6 monographs. In 2013, he won the third prize of Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Progress Award and the first prize of Shanghai Pudong New Area Science and Technology Progress Award. He is also a reviewer of Aging and Chinese Journal of Hypertension.
