Sophie ZHU

Dr. Sophie Zhu, a senior attending physician in the field of venous disease, boasts over a decade of in-depth experience in diagnosing and treating venous disorders such as varicose veins, venous thrombosis, and venous ulcers. She has achieved significant success in the minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins, having treated more than 3,000 patients. Particularly notable is her integration of venous hemodynamics principles and promotion of the minimally invasive CHIVA surgery aimed at preserving the great saphenous vein. Currently, she serves as a core member of the Global CHIVA Education, Training, and Certification Program Advisory Group.

Dr. Zhu has undertaken advanced studies at the Englewood Hospital Vein Center in the United States and the CHIVA surgery center at Cremona’s St. Camillus De Lellis Hospital in Italy. She has engaged in extensive academic exchanges on the international stage, serving as a keynote speaker at the 42nd Annual Meeting of Japanese Society of Phlebology and the 64th Meeting of the Germany Society of Phlebology, sharing her valuable insights and experiences in the field of venous disease treatment.

Dr. Zhu previously held the position of chief vascular surgeon at the Dr. Smile Medical Group, where she also served as Vice President and Director of the Medical Department. She was responsible for leading the medical quality management, physician training, and academic brand development across the group’s national network of venous disease centers.
