Biography

Dr. Zhang has several areas of specialty, including insomnia (Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia or combined with medications), depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, mania and bipolar disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive disorders, trauma or stress-related disorders, schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.

Education:

Dr. Zhang received her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine in 2000 from Tongji University School of Medicine, 4and was later awarded a Doctorate degree in Psychiatry in 2007 from Fudan University. In 2007 Dr. Zhang also completed her residency training at Shanghai Mental Health Center and Shanghai Yangpu Mental Health Center. From 2010 to 2013, Dr. Zhang worked at the Psychiatry Department of Yale University School of Medicine as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Zhang passed the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and received the certificate from Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in 2016.

Dr. Zhang has the professional titles of Associate Senior Physician of Psychiatry, Professional Counselor, and Psychotherapist. She continuously attended several professional trainings, including CBT for Insomnia, Mindfulness for OCD, Family therapy and Psychoanalysis to refine her practice.

Background:

Dr. Zhang has nearly 20 years of clinical experience. Before joining Shanghai United Family Healthcare, Dr. Zhang worked or was trained at the Connecticut Mental Health Center, PACT clinic at Atlanta, Shanghai Mental Health Center, Yangpu Hospital affiliated with Tongji University, and Shanghai Yangpu Mental Health Center. Dr. Zhang is the Associate Chief of the Medical Administration Division at the Shanghai Yangpu Mental Health, and in charge of the United Family Pudong Hospital’s psychiatric consulting service in emergency settings, referral to psychiatric inpatient facility, and the outpatient follow-up services for discharged patients.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Zhang is also the Principal Investigator for several research projects. She first-authored research articles on World Journal of Biological Psychiatry, Chinese Journal of Psychiatry, et al. She obtained the Scientific and Technological Achievements Award in 2012 and 2013, and she is also the winner of the Golden Award in the National Clinical Case Presentation in English by Young Chinese Psychiatrists.
