Dr. Zhang has several areas of specialty, including insomnia, obsessive compulsive disorder, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, mania and bipolar disorders, adjustment disorder, trauma or stress-related disorders, Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.


Dr. Zhang received her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine in 2000 from Tongji University School of Medicine, and was later awarded a Doctorate degree in Psychiatry in 2007 from Fudan University. In 2007 Dr. Zhang also completed her residency training at Shanghai Mental Health Center and Shanghai Yangpu Mental Health Center. From 2010 to 2013, Dr. Zhang worked at the Psychiatry Department of Yale University School of Medicine as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Zhang passed the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and received the certificate from Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in 2016.

Dr. Zhang has the professional titles of Chief Physician of Psychiatry, Professional Counselor, and Psychotherapist. She continuously attended several professional trainings, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Insomnia, CBT for OCD, CBT for Depression, Mindfulness for OCD, Family therapy and Psychoanalysis, to refine her practice.


Dr. Zhang has nearly 20 years of clinical experience. Before joining Shanghai United Family Healthcare, Dr. Zhang worked or was trained at the Connecticut Mental Health Center, PACT Clinic at Atlanta, Shanghai Mental Health Center, Yangpu Hospital affiliated with Tongji University, and Shanghai Yangpu Mental Health Center. Besides outpatient clinic duties, Dr. Zhang is also in charge of the United Family Pudong Hospital’s psychiatric consulting service in emergency settings, and the referral to psychiatric inpatient facility.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Zhang is also the Principal Investigator for several research projects. She first-authored research articles on World Journal of Biological Psychiatry, BMC Psychiatry, European Journal of Psychotraumatology, and Chinese Journal of Psychiatry, et al. She obtained the Scientific and Technological Achievements Award in 2012 and 2013, and she is also the winner of the Golden Award in the National Clinical Case Presentation in English by Young Chinese Psychiatrists.
