Biography

Areas of specialty:

Dr. Lu has several areas of specialty including primary care for all ages, health promotion, chronic disease management and pediatric endocrinology.

Education:

Dr. Lu received her Medical Bachelor degree from Sun Yatsen University of Medical Science in 1984, and was later awarded Master of Medicine in 1991 from University of Sydney. She received training in Pediatric Residency from 1984-1987 in the Sun Yatsen Memorial Hospital, training in pediatric endocrinology from 1988-1994 at the Children’s Hospital Sydney.  Dr. Lu is a licensed general practitioner in Australia (AHPRA) and is a member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

Background:

Dr. Lu has over 35 years of clinical experience from China and Australia, in pediatric and in adult medicine.  Before joining Shanghai United Family Hospital in 2015 she practiced Family Medicine for 17 years caring for the Guangzhou expatriate community. She is the Department Chair Family Medicine, and Assistant Chief Medical Officer.  Her passion is in unifying the medical team with the evidence based medicine approach.

Dr. Lu also has a passion in medical education.  From 2013 Dr. Lu is a clinical teacher & examiner for the Sydney Child Health Program from University of Sydney.  This worldwide program provides Family Medicine doctors training in pediatrics.  Shanghai United Family Hospital is renowned for its Family Medicine fellowship, credit to Dr. Lu’s leadership.

Dr. Lu has published many papers in medical journals, including Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Dr. Lu speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
